Student centered assessment

This module has helped me think about student-centered assessment in the following ways. One way is that I feel that it is important to have the students when working in a group assess the group. That way they all know that if they don't help their group with the project then they are going to get marked down by the rest of the group. I also feel that it is important to have students maybe assess a presentation by the teacher, so that they may see what you are looking for in grading their presentations. As we talked about in our little group, if you are having the students do something that they have never done before like getting up in front of the class to recite a remembered passage. Then you might want to have them assess you, the teacher, doing a similar presentation first as one that would be considered excellent and then as one being considered poor. That way the students might better understand what you are looking for and also how they will be assessed.
